We use numerous design features and best construction practices to create safer, more energy-efficient homes. Low VOC paints reduce harmful off-gassing and improve air quality. Spray foam and custom insulation contain fewer harmful chemicals, gasses and allergens while also reducing heating and air conditioning needs and saving energy. By using Energy Star certified appliances and features, we are able to reduce homeowners? energy costs by 15-20%. Many of our homes feature reclaimed flooring and recycled carpets, helping to reduce our carbon footprint. Geothermal heating and air conditioning systems also reduce carbon output, while saving consumers money over the long term. Arlington Designer Homes is proud to recycle more than 75% of leftover construction materials, and we strive to build homes close to public transportation. By using porous concrete and creating leaching areas within driveways to absorb run-off, we are reducing the amount of by-product that reaches sewer systems and the Chesapeake Bay.
